None at all. I've used it up to about 12 feet from the camera.
I attached a piece of colored tape to mine so I can locate it if I drop it.

No.

Are there any third-party remotes that are good?
I bought one as a backup to the F, before I bought the newer O-RC1
waterproof version. The 3rd party one was worthless. YMMV.
