I have been using 2 nos Pentax F Remotes with my K20D, K-5 & K-5 IIs
w/o any difficulty - purchased for a few dollars when Wolf Camera was
closing down in 2009. They are still working well w/o a battery change.

The one shown here:

is actually a common Chinese generic available on Evil Bay for as
little as $ 2 or 3 with shipping, so please do not spend $ 16 for the
one shown in the link above.

The eBay seller for my $ 2.29 generic Remote with shipping was
"buyhere99 (2459)" - see link attached:-

Useful information. I need to buy a new remote, as they don't last well
being run over by a Land Rover. I'd be particularly interested in one that
covers a range of camera models and brands, but the best I've found so far
comes with a number of different leads and I'd prefer wireless control.

My OLympus E-M10 does that via a smartphone app. Works wonderfully well from up to 20 metres away and much more reliable than my almost useless IR remotes. I think the new Pentax K-S2 has a similar feature.

Overall though, I still prefer a wired remote.
