Agreed, apart from my LX I use Tamrac straps with the little QRs so that I can pop the strap off when the camera is on a tripod or when it might become snagged. I have no problem leaving my camera attached to the tripod using my Manfrotto QR plates, most of my heads have locks so they aren't going to fall off.
