# However, I have had comcast cable internet since the summer of 2000 here # (was att&t back then). They have recently up'd the upstream and it I # seem to get better speeds than my DSL friends. Approx $50/month # (depending on specials, renting modem and such).
Do they offer a static IP option? Do you know what the upstream is now that it has been increased?
I think it's 3mb down (might be more)/ 384Kb up now. No static IP, but I've just used dynu.com for the dynamic ip. I hosted stuff on my machines at home for several years until just recently. I still host some mail/web/etc on there, but nothing super intensive.
