Even judgejoebrown will tell you to get that in writing. Get it cut out
or somehow _written_ that you "don't need to worry about it". If it
says "on-site", that might be enough, but I never did like boiler-plate
contracts which contain a bunch of junk that doesn't apply to you and
yet doesn't say that it doesn't apply.
Sounds like they're requiring "general liability insurance", which
basically means that you are covered if you leave your laptop sitting
on top of a rack and it falls on someones head when they close the
cabinet. Also, slipping on the sidewalk while coming to your office
for a meeting and other "we live in america" sue-happy type stuff.
This should be pretty easy to get, fairly cheap, and I think is the
same regardless of your occupation.
As for "professional liability insurance", that's a different beast and
more related to the price of you totally hosing their mainframe by
typing the wrong command (though spilling coffee on it might be covered
under the general liability...) or letting some really stupid bug slip
through. If you're not working on software that could result in
airplanes dropping from the sky, you may not need this, but it's your
shirt (unless you're incorporated, in which case it's "their" shirt
(you know, "them"))
