It is a good mistake to make. I've never made it, and I regeret that
fact. For practical purposes of contributing to the growth of a mass
left movement it is fairly harmless to predict disasters that don't
occur. It is essential to predict disasters that do occur. And the only
way to be at all sure of doing that is to continually risk being wrong.

All of us whose training and experience has been academic become far too
fearful of being wrong.
