Greetings Economists,
The evidence for a political will in the U.S. is everywhere in the U.S. Your question is more in my view asking has change happened because of this political will. Electing Obama is not change. However, change would be reformist first and more radical if reforms fail to meet the demands of harm done during this economic crisis. In other words democrats can harness the will as long as they produce viable reforms say in healthcare. I don't think they can produce viable reforms without dealing with military power and economic hegemony. Hence the political will expressed to support reformism, is unstable as long as Obama remains a neo-liberal.
thanks,
Doyle Saylor

Where is the evidence of that political will? The American public seems excited by voting in a new leader who is almost exactly the same as previous leaders in terms of foreign policy.
