Good idea! I tried it and got this:
$ f-spot
$ Starting new FSpot server
Cant' get a connection to the dbus. Trying again...
And it tried again and again until I stopped it
Any ideas from anyone?

The only suggestion I have is to try running F-Spot from a terminal
window instead of the GUI. A lot of apps throw useful stuff to standard
output which is shown in the terminal but hidden when you run from the GUI.
I don't use F-Spot so I can't be any more help I'm afraid.
