This is another view of the entire assembly. If you have one of them then just about anyone can make a clone. Beware that the latch really does not work so never pick the machine up by the cover handle as they tend to unlatch without warning while the machine is far from the floor.

This is the entire latch assembly.  The "T" bar piece is the latch and the spring presses 
it out into engagement with the base.  The button passes through the side of the case and is then 
riveted to the "T" bar latch.
