Sorry, maybe because of my english. But i try harder to make myself more
clear.

I'm php programmer and make feel contributions to wikimedia, you see what i
upload here
<https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:ListFiles?limit=50&user=Webysther>.
Is general, i submit things around me.

The PR is about the last e-mails, is clear the visual identity have a
problem and we/i/you
fix this. And there are some ways I can suggest, which are:

- Make a new visual identity without copyright;
- Suggest a CC-BY-NC <https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/2.0/>
license explict on php.net/logos, compatible with the format that is
described on the site, but unfortunately I can not put in Wikipedia.
- Ask to creator to put on public domain or something.

The fixes on /logos page is:

- What exact colors represent the identity
- SVG format link
- Removal of outdated and proprietary formats sources, leaving formats such
as SVG, PNG
and JPG only enough for a wide range of conversion into other formats.

About your last paragraph: I have no financial or any other intention than
to improve the identity,
but to make it clear, I will mention more examples:

*Languages*

Ruby (CC-BY-SA)

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ruby_logo.svg
https://www.ruby-lang.org/en/about/logo/

HHVM/HACK (CC-BY-SA)

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Webysther_20160330_-_HHVM.svg
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Webysther_20160330_-_Hack_(language).svg

Java (f**k copyright sample, for your enjoyment)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Java_logo.png
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Java_logos

PHP (wrong logo, poor quality about information e image)

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:PHP_Logo.png
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:PHP_icons

It seems silly but it makes an incredible difference, I always have trouble
with one or the other place
and would be sad to see that even a simple logo the PHP community is
complicated to handle. :(

I understand your frustration, but understand that I am discovering a
problem that gives you two
ways to deal with: solve a positive way or just skip to become a bigger
problem in the future.

It is a choice of the gentlemen, in practice only leaves me with another
not, which will not really change my life, after all ...

While previous information...

I put the logo like this one:

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Logo_Grupo_Folha.svg

This is SVG and is simple forms, but i put the information about possible
copyright. The use is limited but possible.

*Another suggest*:

The PHP logo is only a simple shape using a commercial font. Maybe it's
time to make a contest for a new logo?

- Logo use commercial font
- Shape is simple form
- Color is not compatible to web, the website color is another.
- The elephpant mascot is concurrent to postgresql, was is more old (~1995
