Thank goodness for my daughter who helps me. I found in the beginning of 2001 that i had a pituitary tumor. I lived in pain and illness until i found a new set of doctors and surgery in April of 2002. My tumor started out in size 18by18 mm. then before surgery 21by18mm. My new surgeon said it was because of the change of the tumor he would do the surgery. Doctors cover other doctors and he didn't tell the whole truth. The tumor had hemorrred  My adrenal and throid were some of my harmones that were bad. In the beginning i was treated for a prolactin tumor. That was wrong. I took the highest dose of Dostinex and it brought the prolactin from 54 to 0 and my doctor keep giving me the Dostinex. I finally had to go to my doctor and get him to get me a new endrocrinolist which he did. My point is why could't I have had surgery in the beginning. I live in ok. and there is no pituitary endrocrinolist and since I spend alot of time in bed and not able to function like I would like,I went to m.d.anderson cancer center in Houston,Tx. The Pituitary Endrocrinolist said all she could do is gives me estrogen and since I had a heart condition she could't give estrogen. She only went over some of the throid with me. My adrenal glands seem to be working since I had surgery,that has been tested twiced now. My IGF-1 is 79 which has been that the last two times I had it tested. My question is do I have a growth harmone defiency. The doctors have not talked to me about that. By the way I seen a neurosurgeon in Houston. He showed me where the MRI in Dec.2001 that the tumor had hemorred. None of my doctors  I had went told me it had done it until surgery. I know I not feeling well and in bed alot. People think I'm well because I've had surgery. People do not understand this illness and neither do doctors. I had to have a heart stint put in a few months before I had my tumor taken out. I went to my heart doctor last week and he told the tumor had nothing to to with my heart, ha,ha. I'm on my fifth cholestrol med. and it is finally working. Has anyone out there been on med. for GHD. I don't  know what my next step is but it looks like I will have to make the decision.  HELP View other groups in this category.
