Kadiya, Sorry that I haven't responded sooner, but I just got back from traveling for 6 weeks. I believe you should really become assertive in seeking a specialist. Can't you appeal the Drs decision not to refer you to a specialist? I would be very concerned about the double vision and visual disturbances! Does your opthamologist know about these? He should refer you to a neuro-opthamologist who should help you get to a specialist. How large was your tumor? Was it close to the optic chiasm? If the double vision and visual disturbances are being caused by the tumor puting preasure on the optic nerves these symptoms can become permanent. I ended up with permanent double vision and had to have surgery to realign my eyes following removal of my tumor. I still have some problems but the surgery helped a lot. You can read my story on the My Pit Story message board. Don't give up, fight to get the help you need this can be serious! Wishing you the best Daryl |
