HI All, Thanks for the comments and suggestions.

Then the package would be libjs-jquery56 instead of just libjs-jquery, > as we do for C/C++ libraries. > This, however, would mean that we would have to introduce a new source package. i.e. jquery5.6 which ships libjs-jquery56. So, in a particular case of YUI, my thoughts are: 1. Change YUI 2.8.2r1 package to include libjs-yui28 binary package. Update installation directories (/usr/share/javascript/yui/2.8.2r1/*.js), and provide a virtual package libjs-yui. 2. Eventually introduce a new source package: yui3.5, which ships libjs-yui35, and libjs-yui as a virtual pointing to the newer library, then drop that in the above package. Does this make sense? Do you guys agree? Note: Since we currently need this in Ubuntu ASAP, I'll probably introduce the yui3.5 package in Ubuntu before it hits Debian.
