Which confirms that it is the registry stub that is not working... > [snip] but I'm > more than a bit out of my depth [snip] Hang on just a bit longer, Sophie, I think we're almost there. After using the Install Tool to ensure that the card installation directory is 'woken up', try opening regedit again (like we did before), and navigating to the magic number place. Once there click Registry | Export Registry file... This file will have a lot of gumph in it, but if you clean out everything but the equivalents of the lines already in the stub we made before (through Notepad again) you'll probably find something different to what I suggested. If that works, can I see the file that did work? M@ My exported registry file: ---- Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop\HotSync Manager] "NetworkCapable"=dword:ffffffff "BackupConduit"="bakcn20.dll" "Notifier0"="pdn20.dll" "Notifier1"="instappn.dll" "Notifier2"="npadntfy.dll" "Local"=dword:00000000 "Notifier3"="alarmnotify.dll" "Notifier4"="C:\\PROGRA~1\\Palm\\Chapura\\POCKET~1\\PMirror.dll" "PCIdentifier"=dword:0000124d "LastSync"="December 04,8:00 AM" "DontAskExit"=dword:00000000 "Ircomm"=dword:00000001 "DirectComPort"="COM1" "Notifier5"="C:\\Program Files\\Adobe\\Acrobat Reader for Palm OS\\AdbeNotifier.dll" "ModemComPort"="COM1" "ModemInitString"="AT&F&B1&H1&R2S0=1M1L0" "Install16037"=dword:00000005 [a bunch of other stuff snipped here] ---- Delete lines 4-19 and 21-end (word wrap might have stuffed those numbers up a bit, but you should get the idea) _______________________________________________ plucker-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.rubberchicken.org/mailman/listinfo/plucker-list
