<snip> Thanks, but I have tried without success. If I set out what I've done, it might help others as well as myself to know where I went wrong. 1. I got my "magic number" without difficulty. 2. I then made as plsin text file, substituting my "magic number" for "666666" - copied at the foot of this message. 3. I then added my \CardInst\Slot-SD folder to the output directories for one channel. (This must have worked as when later I updated the channel, a file channelname.pdb was created in that folder.) 4. Finally I took the step where I may have failed, giving the command to be executed after spidering, in terms set out at the foot of this message. When I then updated the channel, the newly created channelname.pdb file was sent to the Install Tool, for installation to the handheld, not the card. I did it all again with the same result. I then noticed that the newly created .pdb file was appearing both in the \CardInst\Slot-SD folder and the \install folder. So I tried to fiddle, and removed the \plucker\channels folder from the list of destinations set for the channel, and deleted the channelname.pdb file wherever it appeared. Updated again, and despite what I had just done, the new .pdb file appeared in all three places, and was in the Install Tool directed to the handheld. I tried to change its destination manually within the Install Tool, but got a message "cannot change destination of file" or words to that effect. I thought it might be because the .pdb file was already in the \CardInst\Slot-SD folder, so I deleted it from there, and tried manually again, this time with success. (That had the effect of removing the file from the \Install folder and into the \CardInst\Slot-SD folder. So it seems that what I am doing is directing the file both to the handheld and the card, and what I need is to stop it going to the handheld. Grateful for advice as to where I am going wrong. = Sohhie Here are those details: Plain text file: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop\HotSync Manager] "Install9724"=dword:00000005 Command to execute after spidering: regedit /s H:\Palm\Plucker\plucker-desktop\Redirect\HotSync.reg _______________________________________________ plucker-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.rubberchicken.org/mailman/listinfo/plucker-list
