We (Tridel) use that for some of our Web Hosting Services.

On the administration side, it is quite easy, as compared with the
"traditional" setup of telnetting into the system, edit the configuration
files, restart this service, etc etc. Of course, you still CAN do that (I
do, sometimes .. hehe), but all those details are nicely "hidden" from you
while using their web interface. With some Internet basic concepts (like
for DNS, what an MX record does, what are email aliases, etc...), you will
be able to administer your webserver (DNS, ftp, mail and others) in no
time.
As to adding third-party software into it, you can, it's a linux box
afterall, and you are free installing stuff into it. However, I think
(not very sure, i don't have the manuals with me now) it is written on
their Disclaimer that doing so will nullify the warranty.
