#_ Comparison:
#_ I think Red Hat Linux is like TurboLinux Server, and MS Windows NT 4.0
#_ server. While Linux Mandrake is like TurboLinux workstation (WS), and MS
#_ Windows NT WS.
#_
#_ FYI, you can use MS NT WS 4.0 for LAN Proxy server only. You can't use it
#_ for WAN. So, it's a server WS. I think Linux Mandrake is for LAN server
#_ only. It's not for WAN (like the Internet) server and heavily
#_ access server. Iniisip ko kasi is that Mandrake parang low class na
#_ OS server comparing it to Red Hat. Kaya my perspective to Mandrake
#_ pang desktop/WS lang. Please clarify if my opinion is correct. I'm not
#_ using Mandrake kasi for Internet server.

#_ Cheers!:)

Mandrake is based on Red Hat, but Mandrake (all apps and packages) is
compiled/optimised for i586 and up which gives it 30% + improvement in
performance over Red Hat (all apps and packages) which is compiled for i386
and up. Mandrake is 99.98% compatible with Red Hat - it is a Red Hat
distribution with some Mandrake improvements/tweaks, plus Mandrakes
_emphasis_ of a desktop environment. Mandrake is a compleate linux
distribution, which means that almost all the apps needed for it to fuction
as a server or workstation are present. It is up to the end user what he
wants to do with his/her distribution, use it as a Workstation, server,
paper weight ;-> or whatever; any distro will do. That's what linux is all
about, you are free to do what you want with it.

BTW that 30%+ inprovement is according to Mandrake;
I'm just quoting them :->

just my $0.20
