actually we wont add or substract lists. we need to treat one of the
causes why a lot of newbie posts are being posted in the main tech
list. we already tried posting guidelines, redirecting new users to
the newbie list, email footers, and what have you. one cause is that
the name "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" is too general and inviting. it gives off a
psychological impression that this is the _the_ main support list.
i think the real reason is not the "defaultness" of plug but rather.. people have a better chance of getting their questions answered here than in a newbie list. plus, there isn't enough traffic to support two lists.
enforcing various "rules" to constrain newbies from posting here will just make their lives hard. and by and large, this list exists to help other linux users (it's just the intolerant oldbies like me who make an issue out of it..) maybe the solution is for intolerant oldbies to unsubscribe. :P
