Vodafone in the UK is offering free soap opera streaming (certain number of hours per month) to their postpaid plans. So obviously the carriers have to be willing to swallow loss-leading packet charges if they are to have any revenue.
For now, as you yourself have stated (or was it Mr Filomeno..) 3G will just be a fatter pipe for pushing rich content at unsuspecting subscribers.
