Back in UP in 1994-95 hot na hot yang finger. and mozcom was the most

well yung mga sa lab ko in UP hot din sa kanila yung mudspring.uplb.edu.ph
:P
Would you believe that old sparc was still in public operation a year
ago? Naabutan ko pa cya...and it's still physically located in the
networking room. It's actually still being used, but it's inside a
private network segment. We're keeping it up so that faculty can get
their old mail from it anytime they wish.
i can remember when netscape 2.0 first came out.. it had FRAME!! (gasp)
before that happy na happy na ako sa netscape 1.1 (di ko na halos naabutan
yung gopher, pero naabutan ko pa yung CERN linemode browser hahaha)
Actually the only reason I used gopher even when netscape was out was
because my PC was so crummy.:( When I saved up to upgrade the 2mb ram to
4mb....netscape 3.0 came out but kept on crashing on startup for no reason.
OT again, but for curiosities sake...I just apt-getted gopher and ran
the client for the first time since God knows when. Lo and
behold...there are still gopher servers being setup! One of them has a
particularly funny message:
from goffer.dyn-o-saur.com:
8] WELCOME!
First an answer to an obvious question: Why on earth would
one set up a gopher server in 2006?
- Because it's possible! ;-)
