Heh, that distro ought to be in every Linux user's emergency toolbox ;)

For the OP, I'd suggest trying a couple or so different distros to get a
feel as to which would be the most appropriate for his hardware.  Or,
you could stick to a general-purpose distro (like Debian) and figure out
how to tailor your installation later...
