At any rate, I don't see still why government should only use free
software still when proprietary "source available" _locally developed_
software does the job as well if not better than open source software.
But then I think that's just me.
what dou you mean by locally developed proprietary software can you qualify it? Are these apps were developed using expensive propietary tools so its end products can not be doubted as proprietary also. I cant see why it will be disadvantageous to any goverment to use GPLed softwares the fact is clear, it is free to use. Also if goverments are going to use open source software then it is subject to transparency and less hocus focus, nothing is hidden under hood.
