FOSS systems are cheaper hereabouts. But in the US, Unix
administrators cost anywhere from $3k to $5k more per year than
Windows administrators. That is significant, that's 10% to 20% more.

Yes... because of supply and demand. A lot of mcse supply that the
cert has now become a commodity.

*nix admins on the other hand is different. Supply is small, and
compounding the problem, companies in the north america wants senior
system administrators most of the time. Talking to the Manager of a
project i'm currently working, they are looking at *unix admins for 8
months now... and still counting.
