magnetic swipes or barcode swipes or RFID? barcode is the cheapest to implement.
i remember implementing a q&d solution back in dumaguete using an old AT-based barcode reader (plugs to a keyboard socket) that logs the employee number and the date/time info on a mysql database. although the DTS/HRIS being used back then was developed in-house, you can use any PHP/ MySQL-based front-end or directly log the data to your current DTS system. Our bundy clock here at the office sucks. It's old and needs replacing. I'm thinking of swipe cards. Any suggestions on locally available hardware and software?
