one emplementation i saw in one office was since barcoded id of person A can be used by person B to login person A., what they did is they used a camera to take a picture of the person login in. So that when there is some anomally or what ever and they need to verify if the person A really did come in that day they can check the picture. The verificationis still manual but it will make people more honest :) and it does consume more disk space (low quality image i think is enough).

Most of the serial and usb bar code 'gun' works well with linux. One thing you can do is upon upong recognizing the bar code, a picture will pop-up, along with the employees info. The security officer then will recognize the irregularities. _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
