YES

Acceptance by all levels. (Some still want to buy their operating systems and
software, I think it could be a belief that "i am superior to you if i have
MS and you have Linux".. Some people are such babies in the business
world.. )

Still check the hardware requirements, some printers and other devices are
still windows only, (Panasonic and others).
Roll out first Mozilla - Firefox to the users this removes first the Browsers
issues, and you can deal with any intranet system that may be windows IE
only.
Then roll out Open Office, If you have any resistance have a copy of Office
for Vista, when they see the difference they will no longer resist.
Once those two are rolled out you can then look at the systems to do first.
Make sure you have a proper audit of each desktop first. So as you dont get
any surprises. Some computers will stay windows.
Plan Plan Plan, Then roll out. The more you roll out the easier it is as the
users will help each other out.
You will get resistance, from many around and some will fight with Vista and
the new office than to give in to Open Source.
But stay strong make sure you have backing for the change. If not you just
fight everyone. Always good to make the move when you have a virus outbreak,
have it all planned and ready, and the next virus outbreak, instigate the
change over due to threats to the companies bottom line.
We use Mandriva, and it really makes the move easy..
Need help tips just ask..
