We are using Linux, namely Ubuntu, on the corporate desktop.

OpenOffice.org 2.4.x is way better than OOo 1.1.x -- In a corporate desktop,
the office suite and email are the most used apps. Our main system is accessed
via telnet so not much of an issue, except for the printing, at first.

And we also made a number of our PCs multihead/multiuser PCs which provide some
savings.

In our case we had to wean them off MS products a little at a time. We changed
email clients to Thunderbird, then switched from MS Offfice to OOo for the
casual users. We are now slowly migrating majority of our users from M$ to
Ubuntu Hardy -- aside from IT, we have two other departments migrated, and one
or two more is planned this month.
