There is possibly nothing we can't do as a group of geeks in a mailing list,
but that is not the point. The point is, every organization need to have
it's legal identity. Having PLUG incorporated does not change a thing and I
agree with Mr. Ian Sison's sentiments to do what we do best. But I certainly
don't want to wake up one morning and find out that some bigshot company
have register the name PLUG or Philippines Linux User Group in SEC and
demand we cease using the name. This might be an issue of ego as same of you
may say, we can always change name. Yes it's true, but why do that if we can
prevent it from happening? Having PLUG incorporated does not alter the
present PLUG in any way, and besides, it cost only so little to have it
done, so little that I am willing to pick up the bills, do the paper work
and stuffs. All we need is to have 5 list founder as incorporators and I
think the law require at least 25 member's signature. I'll willing to
shoulder the small filing fees etc. And you guys can continue to do what you
do best, think of this as my unqualify contribution to an organization that
deserve a legal identity.

Steve
