sacha, although you may have come from the better ateneo and our
university may not be that reputable, i think i may have something
which might be of interest to you.

we have our own courseweb here in the university although it is limited
only to the computer science department. the system was developed in-house
with our teachers as project managers and the students working for their
OJT as the programmers. it was implemented in PHP and uses a PostgreSQL
backend. we are using NT4 as our platform though but we're running apache
for webserving.

perhaps the best feature of the system is the Online Student Progress
Monitor.
with the system, students won't need to constantly inquire their teachers
about their
grades. the score of every test, assignment, lab exercise, or exam can be
viewed there and the tentative final grade (we're using letter-grading) is
automatically
computed.

regarding user accounts. i'm not really familiar with the system as i was
not one
of the developers. but i do have the SQL dump of the database and if you
might want to investigate how the tables and relationships were implemented,
i can send it to you. i might be able to give you the source too as i know
our
program director quite well.

you can view our courseweb at:
