this is trully subjective. but, of course, i say Linux
truly rocks. and that is subjective too.

so what? i can make linux load the GUI quickly too if i
wanted too. but, what for? i recompile my kernel with
only the necessary drivers and disable unecessary services.
and kapish! my floppy router distro boots pretty fast
too. (and this is NO EXAGGERATION).

i have installed a STOCK redhat 7.2 on an ACER travelmate
laptop. i close the laptop and linux goes to sleep.(almost
instantly). i open it and it wakes up in less than 5 seconds.
(and this is NO EXAGGERATION). i have done the same for
boxes with ATX power supplies and suspend features too.

ow. another subjective statement. Linux is rock solid.
look everybodyi made a subject statement too. gee wiz.

stability i will still argue about XPs stability. i
will just leave you to your own opinions. i have
deployed a number of XP boxens. frankly, i find them
cute. stability on the other hand another question.
XP still crashes on me though. but, i think that is
because M$ sofware do not like me personally and that
is why they crash.

hahaha, sacha remember the line "please su to root and
run this script". hahaha. do not kid me Unix/Linux virii
have existed a LOOOOONG time ago. check the mcaffe
virus DB on Unix/Linux virii. they have existed before.

somebody else should answer this. i have never used linux
because of the price. i have a bunch of XP and VS.NET
software itching to be used.

btw, i find KDE 2.2 really cute. i think i am switching
desktops now. (one reason i like linux/BSD... freedom
of choice)

Fear, Uncertainty and Deception. the microsoft strategy.
i believe that a lot of things about Linux must be
demistified. these are minor issues.

however, the bigger issue here is what is M$ mystifying.
oh! and why is big, bad, multi-million dollar M$ afraid
of little ole linux? threatened?

the $0.02 of an uncertified for anything programmer who
knows swat about operating systems, networking and other
computer related stuff.

ps. i would like to apologize to my fellow PLUGgers. i
just could not resist. i hope you guys understand. ;-)
