Wrong. NT itself doesn't have fork(), but Cygwin does: http://cygwin.com/cygwin-api/std-posix.html#AEN58 Afaik, the emulation is not perfect, but it sure is good enough for them to be able to port most all of the GNU toolchain. Cygwin rocks. I can now have my cake and eat it too. The same free tools under a desktop environment that's sleeker than those currently available under Linux. (Oh, oops, did I blaspheme again?
