I've read Linus rant about it again and again in "Just for Fun"..

Yep, but i'd venture that if MS Open Sourced their OS, in much the same
way Linux is today, we'd have less hackers coding for linux, and more on
Windows.  Just take a look on how many are hacking away at GNU Hurd
today...
