Yeah it's open... it's open since several months ago. Macromedia allows
other third party software developers to make program for writing Flash. I
think this is another way to market Macromedia Flash.

Macromedia has the ambition to make Flash the standard multimedia format.
Flash 6.0 beta was out sometime ago and it can import video files. Expect to
watch some movies in Flash format in the near future.

Since Flash is already open I wonder if there's Linux version now.
