Ian, I doubt it. Has anyone tried SAPdb? www.sapdb.org It's a GPL, enterprise-class RDBMS. You can deploy SAP BASIS on it. There are over 800 installations worldwide. However, I don't see a lot of activity. I don't see people deserting MySQL and PostgreSQL in droves. Understand: this is an ORACLE-CLASS database system. It's made by SAP AG, the #3 software vendor in the world. Why? I guess it's because it's not "of the people." Same with Windows. M$ open sources their code, who would understand it? who would WANT to? granted open-source Win2K would be very neat, but it wouldn't stop me using Linux. I guess I'm just hard-headed. UNIX and Windows are different CULTURES. It's command-line vs point and drool. You can't even get at most of the Windows settings through the command line, UNIX Services aka Interix notwithstanding. I'd rather use OS X. -- Orlando Andico <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mosaic Communications, Inc. _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
