really?? sorry this "warning:" is very new to me, to be exact this is the
first time i heard of such thing, can you give a url or anything that would
support this malfunction . i dont see any logical reason for this
mulfunction but please do give a url/documents or anything that would
support this..

standard specification is that, you use
> *straight-thru* cable connecting from your nic to hub/switch port unless
> otherwise notified by your hub/switch vendor to use cross-over cable.

you don't use cross over cable's if you don't need them but there are some
"occasions" that you should like connecting two pc's without a hub or even
sometimes connecting to routers
