Would an empirical support do?

We just had an accident in our network yesterday. A crossover cable
was accidentally connected to a hub from a pc. As a result, the whole
network were flooded with packets. All nodes couldn't network, and
all the collision lights on all the central switches were lit up
without blinking.

Yet another damage a really pissed-off network administrator
can do on his last day in the company.

BTW, it wasn't me who did it.
