i'm not too surprised. back around '96, i was using emacs for 
programming, while browsing the net ala-lynx, and checking my mail via 
imap. everything but the kitchen sink. there's even this AI kuno doctor 
something that you can talk to. very interesting. stopped using it after 
seeing how humongous it is.

so, for text editors, my pick is pico(nakasanayan na sa pine)/nano(no 
choice pag gentoo gamit mo)/vi(pag wala na talagang iba) for small 
edits, and IDLE(python), jed(perl), and anjuta(C/C++) for IDEs. of 
course, ultraedit for windows! hehehe.
