hello all,

I'm trying to install Mandrake 8.2 on a Toshiba Satellite 2535CDS.
I've successfully installed Mandrake 8.1 on box (second try, because
I couldn't get 8.2 to install, see below). But when I try to
install Mandrake 8.2 i get a hard crash at the point where it
says it's "Configuring PCMCIA cards". This is after keyboard
selection, license acceptance, and specifying install type (I've
tried Expert Install (first try) and Expert Upgrade (second try).
Neither works. When it hangs, I can't CTRL-ALT-DEL, can't switch
to the other virtual terminals (Alt-F1, Alt-F2, etc), have to
turn the computer off and on.

I'm about to give up on 8.2 (either I'll stick with 8.1 or test
Cooker, or maybe try Debian or Gentoo), but I thought I'd ask here
first in case someone can point me at something to try.

thanks for any pointers.
