I'm trying to install Snort or Hogwash and I get this error. I installed
libpcap-0.6.2-9.i386.rpm and it installed it but when I tried Snort I
get the following error
[root@localhost cdrom]# rpm -ivh hogwash-0.1.c-1.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
libmysqlclient.so.10 is needed by hogwash-0.1.c-1
[root@localhost cdrom]# rpm -ivh snort-1.8.3-1.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
libpq.so.2 is needed by snort-1.8.3-1
What do I need to install before I can install it the FAQ of Snort.org
says I need libpcap-devel so went ahead and did this
[root@baboy cdrom]# rpm -ivh libpcap-devel-0.6.2-2cl.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
libpcap = 0.6.2-2cl is needed by libpcap-devel-0.6.2-2cl
