Holden,William and Tiger, First I was lost in your discussion kasi newbie ako but since Tiger gave me a clue libpq.so was in postgresql-devel so I did a "rpm -qpl package-name" to all post*.*rpmS and finally found libpq.so.2 in postgresql-libs-7.1.x.x.i386.rpm. I was searchings things in rpmfind.net and burned them on a CD after downloading them but I can not figure out how to find libpq.so.2. Buti na lang meron clue si Tiger. What I finally did now is list all the RPMs on CD1 and CD2 of RH7.2 and printed it so pag sinabi ninyo sa akin anong rpm and kailangan ko I will pull my list-- maganda handa ako.hehehehe.
Finally it would have been better if rpm -q --whatprovides libpq.so.2 can do a search if it is not yet installed because I realize that I did a rpm -qpl package-name | more and look at the RPMs one by one to really see where libpq.so.2 is found. It was only after installation that rpm -q --whatprovides works and told me who provides it. I have now installed the Snort rpm. thank you thank you again.
