thanks.  i use rpmfind a lot too, usually to download packages
when i don't want to look for my CDs :).  it doesn't solve
the problem at hand (looking for the package that provides a
given file).

> rpm -q --whatprovides <search file>

on the other hand.  that solves the problem at hand perfectly :).
