i forgot the fifth condition: it should be installable in the windows
platform. initial hits on freenx/nomachinenx doesnt list an available
version for windows. the freshmeat page only shows source (hmmn, maybe ill
try compiling this sometime), rpm, debian and osx packages.

Hi,

VNC really then if it's free. MSTS or Winconnect XP (much like msts,
but licensing is cheaper.) for commercial software.

For No. 2, MS Terminal Services can do that ala VNC, as a shared
session of the physical console. *If* you are using windows 2003.
Have done it, works fine. E-mail me privately if you want to know more
since this is terribly OT.

we dont use xp (still the standard win2k professional) and i dont think we will upgrade during this project's lifetime. anything that requires additional funds is automatically given a low-priority rating except if its really critical.

same goes for win2003. anyway, i dont think MSTS is the solution since that would require that we acquire licenses for all workstations here (about 35). again it boils down to the amount of money required.

i hope freenx releases a client and a server to windows as well. way OT here so im stopping now....

ciao!
