You do NOT required a regnumber starting with MusicIP, with the previous releases called MusicMagicMixer a regnumber was required but starting with MusicIP this is no longer a requirement for using the api.
I am not sure, but I think you might need to perform a rescan after you have changed slimserver to use MusicIP.
