Now I'm thinking about it the early stop is likely the issue with lots of cloud-hosted servers that switch off connection that are idle for too long. Mixcloud uses 70kbps mp4, so that's a very low bitrate. Players can download a fair bit of audio and then stay idle for a very long time (high/low watermark issues) and then the server would consider the connection to be stalled.
