Vinnielo - I have followed your suggestion - I exited from SC removed Alien (no uninstall function as such)and Re-installed ,ran Mplayer - it worked. It has not made any difference. I still get a 404, and still cant find any trace of Alien BBC on my SB. Where should it be? Do I have to do something else to activate it as a plug in? and where will I find it on the SB menu?
