The complete re-install including deleting all the files created after
1st installation seems to prove that these files are not being
corrupted or have been changed in some way.
I haven't timed SC startup but its startup is a bit longer if you have
cover art as it builds a lots of caches to help SBC.
Your problem is with AlienBBC settings and not playing, so you are
right in saying Mplayer has nothing to do with this issue.
The location of the basic.html is given in the AlienBBC install.xml
with the line
Code:
--------------------
<optionsURL>plugins/Alien/settings/basic.html</optionsURL>
--------------------
and also in AlienBBC Setting.pm
Code:
--------------------
sub page {
return 'plugins/Alien/settings/basic.html';
}
--------------------
After installation the basic.html file should be in the followin
directory.
server\Plugins\Alien\HTML\EN\plugins\Alien\settings\basic.html
So if all the above paths match your installation - then I think a SC7
re-install would be worthwhile trying.
The issue is SC7 cannot find/read the basic.html. This is either
because the name is not right or the file is protected (e.g.
permissions, security s/w) or locked. I've seen a similar issue in
Linux system some of the file name "HTML" got changed to lower case and
case is significant in Linux. I don't think protection is an issue as a
lot of AlienBBC files have already been read by SC7 unless files with
".html" extension are protected in someway.
When you re-install SC - it is better to reboot Windows. Sometimes it
seems a reboot is necessary to "fix"/clear a problem - I don't why
perhaps there is a cache stuck somewhere.
