Adrian - first of all I'd like to thank you a lot for the great work you've done! I've at last had the time to play with it, added my plugins repository etc. This is a huge step forward in usability. > to the options at the top of the page. It would be good to get > feedback on how people would like to see this listed - sorted by plugin > name, by author etc. I'm late in this game, but after having played a bit with the plugin installer, some JS etc. here's my idea: - _all_ items in one sortable table: enabled, disabled, manually installed. This would be similar to the existing plugin page, where a checked plugin means it's installed -> uncheck to uninstall. - sortable table with name, version, description, author, link, sortable by column (in Default skin, otherwise static table) - eventually (post 7.3) the extension installer and the former plugin page should be merged. Simply show a list of available plugins. Check one to install, whether it's locally installed or from a remote site. - I'd agree with Erland that the plugins should be installed outside the cache folder. The cache folder imho should not contain anything which needs user action to be rebuilt/re-created. We should be able to wipe it, restart SC and be back where we left before. If the installers/package manager can create a cache folder, then they can create a writable plugin folder too. Attached you'll find a template which does the sortable table. Please note that it will not work correctly. We'd need to revert the logic if unchecking should uninstall. That's not implemented. It's just a demo how I would imagine the page could look.
