With SC 7.3 Audio from WaveInput will have a delay about 3 secs behind PC sounds. So it is possible you are getting some sort of loop where PC audio and SC audio is being mixed.
WaveInput takes audio before it gets to audio card hardware but is affected by audio card driver. Generally the simpler and more basic the audio card (i.e. 2 channel vs 5.1 or 7.1) the better the WaveInput stream. Please describe your setup in more detail. What version of Sc ? What sort of PC and audio (e.g. laptop, integrated audio ) ? What sort of player ?
