Check your Java version - on my laptop with old Java after WMA stream
start  - SC would poll Softsqueeze very frequently (about once per
msec) on XP but XP didn't see the poll (the Java problem) and didn't
respond.  SC gets locked up polling but getting no response and
everything slows down until after 20 secs SC gives up.
