Hm, this is weird.
I've been trying to reproduce this since you mentioned it and haven't
been able to. With all kinds of different settings and easily a few
dozen runs.

What type of dock are you using and are you seeing the same thing when
the iPod is not docked?

I have mainly tested this using iPeng 7 (which shares the same playback
code with previous iPeng versions) but you are not using that, right?
Maybe I have to do more testing with the old version to reproduce it.
Is the iPod/iPhone you are using to _control_ always running iOS 7?

Another thing:

You are saying that even though iPeng is in the foreground and the
screen saver does not kick in (which would push it to the background) it
shuts off when it stops playing? You the have iPeng sitting in the dock,
showing it's NowPlaying screen with the screen turned on and you can't
reach it?

Yes, I understood that. But the problem is that square artwork of that
size is really hard to position right on a non-square screen.
Putting up another row of permanently visible controls on iOS 4 would
mean I'd have to about halve the size of the artwork (it would be a bit
less on iPhone 5) plus adding a lot of horizontal space around the
artwork.

It's all a compromise and for iPhone I chose this one because I believe
it's closest to what the majority of users wants.

iPeng's doesn't. It moves when you hit the screen, yes, but it does NOT
move when you lift the finger again. I literally spent days of work and
weeks of testing on that single issue alone.

I admit that the individual one for the local player is different
because for that one I had to use the iOS system slider but you can
always use the main volume control instead.
